Howdy!
Why isn't there any Promise Fasttrak support in the Fedora test-versions? This "limitation" has kept me from installing Fedora so far (becoming a bit grumpy). There was support for this chipset even in Suse 7 (didn't test Red Hat back then), why has it been left out?

From what I've heard, FastTrak support is gone in 2.6 kernels.
I don't work for Promise but I have provided a driver disk built from the Promise source code ever since RH8. The current version on my website is for FC1. I always just built their source code against the installed kernel and repackaged the driver disk.
I hope to release a driver for FC2 within a week or two. However, FC2 is so different from earlier RH/FC versions that it will be significantly more difficult (maybe impossible) to make it stable enough for the public.
I don't bother building for test releases because I don't install test releases and thus have no need for the test release driver. I do, however, provide detailed instructions on my website on how to build your own drivers (provided you have a good working knowledge of Linux). However, the build instructions I provide are now obsolete with the release of FC2, so if I manage a successful build, then I will update the instructions.
My RH/FC FastTrak drivers are available at:

Hope this is useful,
