OK ( i'm new )
I had fedora eight going, and I "opened up " my repository list to install something I had to have, when suddenly ( aver a few hours ) I downloaded and installed Fedora 9.

Now my monitor ( NOT a nebie ) says Vert freq=90 and Hz freq = 60, and I can not do GUI fedora.
Is there a command I could insert during bootup to ask F9 to go easier on the old monitor?

Am I even close? :)

If you've opened up the development repo and 'upgraded' to Fedora 9 Alpha, I'd suggest you bite the bullet and reinstall Fedora 8. Fedora 9 is very, very buggy right now and certainly not what you'd want for normal use. From what you've described, 'a few hours' of installs, your system is too far gone to reset it to Fedora 8.

Do you have critical data on your machine that you can't retrieve?

That covers it. I am new, and I bolted back to Fed8, But I also like trying new stuff, and I really appreciate the great answers I got. Thank you Fedora
