View Full Version : Fedora 9 Alpha on LG E500 not installing

I tried to install Fedora 9 Alpha (64 bit) on my LG E500 laptop.
It shows the message
vmlinuz is loading................................
initrd is loading............................
Ready.

After that sytem hangs.
I could install openSuse. But only with safe settings option and chaged the resolution.
And openSuse is not Detecting ATi Radeon graphics card.

Laptop Configuration.
Model - LG E500
Processor : Intel(R) Core (TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2 GHz.
RAM : DDR2 667 MHz , 2GB
Disk Drive : Fujitsu MHY2200BH ATA 200 GB
Display Adapter : ATI Mobility Radeon HD2400
Mouse : Synaptics PS/2 Port Pointing Device
Network Adapter: Atheros AR5007EG Wireless Network Adapter, Realtek RTL 8101E Fast Ethernet NIC

PCMCIA Adapter:O2Micro OZ 711 SPI Memory card Bus Controller
System Devices : ACPI Fixed Feature Button, ACPI Lid, ACPI Thermal zone, BIP Responder, SiS PCI Express x1 Root, SiS 7001 USB open host controller

Please help me to install Fedora on my laptop

as its been said many times, you wont get F9 Alpha support here as its still in development ..please subscribe to this https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-test-list

when you say you cant install RHEL5 at what screen do you or can you get to during install?

what Make is your dvd-rom drive or is it LG ?

I could Install Fedora only after disabling Core Multi Processing feature in the BIOS setup.
It is working fine. But will there be any hardware problem if I disable this feature ?
Or please suggest me any kernel that supports Core 2 Duo .

the 2.6.xx of the kernel line should support the intel 2 core duo
