View Full Version : Sound issues with Totem...

Ok, so I seem to be having an issue with Totem. During a seemingly normal session, I rebooted my system to move into the updated kernel (delayed it for a few days since I was busy with work). And so after the update, Totem doesn't seem to like all of my .mkv movies... After a few days of investigation here is what I found.

First off, video wise this only happens with my .mkv files... the video is fine but there is no audio
Second, I get no sound from all files that happen to be encoded in Vorbis... this includes OGG's and my movies (all the audio streams in the .mkv's are encoded in vorbis)
Third, this is solely with totem-xine and xine. VLC is fine, Rhythmbox plays my audio OGG's ... so I can rule out something up with gstreamer (I think)
Fourly, and weirdly... I can't seem to get any stream information on effected files in Gnome (it reads as if there no audio stream in the files, but when I boot up VLC... I get that information via the stats profile.)

Help, please?
