Ok guys - my first question for ya!
I'm a recent Slackware convert, and I'm loving Fedora so far, but I have this weird problem, that I can work around, but it is awfully annoying...

It seems like every other boot, my mouse isn't working. For example, I have a Logitech USB optical wheelmouse. If I boot it up, plugged in as USB, it'll work, when I reboot, it won't. If I then reboot with it plugged into the PS/2 port, it'll work, when I reboot again, it will not. I can plug it BACK into the USB port and reboot, and it'll work again.

Also, on an unrelated note...My Nvidia splash screen stays up for an awfully long time, compared to how it just "flashed" on and off on Slackware - is this normal on Fedora?

Thanks in advance guys!
j.

PS/2 and USB? Are you using some kind of adapter?

To select a mouse type: Main Menu > System Settings > Mouse.

Yeah - I initially had the mouse plugged straight into USB (that's how I had it in Slack) and the first time I rebooted, it didn't work, so I put the adapter on and rebooted, and it worked (hooked to PS/2) - then I rebooted again, and once again, it didn't work, so I rebooted w/ it as USB and it worked - it's like it won't work connected the same way two times in a row :(

BTW, I'm on Kernel 2.4.22-1.2188 i686 Athlon if that's any help.

I too had unusual mouse behavior in Fedora Core 1...

First Off do you boot to a graphical or a text login??

Second If you boot to a text login do you see a kudzu configuration wizard??

Thirdly the way i got mine to work every time was taking it out of the usb port and jiggling it around in the port until the laser turned back on, it was dumb but it always worked

I've tried loggin in w/ both Graphical and Text modes and the results are exactly the same :(

Oh well, at least I CAN make it work :)
