Random performance with samba

hi,

I've a FC2 with samba and a another XP box ... No problem to share my files betwenn this both boxes ...

But after a samba tuning, il was able to have download from FC2 at 7MB/s ...
I reboot and try a another file (same size, same partition) and now 1.6MB/s :( ... I check my smb.conf and it is ok my changes are there ....

I try to download my files with FTP, and boom ... 10MB/s ... My network is ok and the problem is samba ...

Any ideas ???

There's some other threads about how smb has bugs, maybe that's what you're seeing.
