Hi there!

I installed Fedora Core 2 on my Siemens AMILO with AMD 3000+ yesterday.
Everything worked fine.... until I first tried to boot.

I died shortly after Grub displaying:
....
Uncompressing Linux ... Ok, booting the kernel.
audit(1087290473.851:0): initialized

So I turned off and booted again ... the splahscreen came and I thought everything would be fine now.

The it dies everytime with this error:
modprobe: FATAL: Error inserting floppy (/lib/modules/2.6.5-1.358/kernel/drivers/block/floppy.ko): No such device

I never had the system working and don't I installed twice,... never told the installer something about a floppy (which the notebook does not have).

Does someone have an idea how to get rid of this? .. I installed Fedora twice now, everytime the same Problem.

Thanks a lot, Sascha

Hello
You could have a conflict between your bios and the linux installation. It could be due to the Floppy controler hardware management. Remove Floppy detection/installation in your bios and retry.
