Hello, I have a laptop with an Intel 82852/82855 integrated graphics card in it and I'm trying to try out the Live CD of Fedora 8. Fedora goes through the start-up process, then when I assume it should go to the graphical user interface, all I get is a black screen. I can hit ctrl+alt+f1 and get to the console, but that's it. I'm pretty new to Linux and brand new to Fedora. If anybody has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Pretty new? Perhaps try some other live CDs like Ubuntu or Fedora 7.
Intel graphics has drivers, that's likely not the problem.

When you get to the console after the black screen, log in as root and try running config-system-display.
Drivers to try:
i810
Intel
and worse come to worse the vesa driver.
Also make sure your monitor specs as far as resolution and refresh rate are within your monitor's supported range.
