Hi,
I've recently installed Febora 8 x86_64 on an AMD Athlon 64 running on an Asus A8V Deluxe motherboard.

Occasionally, boot-up get's stuck - The progress bar on the Fedora splash screen does not progress. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 reveals that it's stuck in 'enabling /etc/swaps'. After several resets it then boots up fine.

I was therefore wondering whether anyone has come across this issue and, if so, whether you'd have any pointers on how to resolve it.

Thanks,

Joe

I am not aware of a file called /etc/swaps . I would wonder if the statement was more like enabling "swap" the swap partition that is normally created during a fresh install.
Can you clarify the message?
What type of install did you select? Also post the contents of /etc/fstab .
