You see all the themes for Gnome and that other DE flattering Vista's style, well someone's gone and made a Vista like menu for Gnome

Haven't tried it myself, I had to reinstall once in the past after trying an RPM of the SLAB menu (from Suse)

Nice work but I would have too many bad memories if I used them ;)

i think i brought this up in another thread, why would one install this an install Linux as a Dual-boot or a single boot to get away from M$, i dont understand the rational behind of inventing this menu like way in linux,

Familiarity could help smooth the transition from the dark side for the faint of heart :D

its like some no0bs are still scared of completely getting away from MS so they install this Vista like theme ..sure the Border theme may come with Emerald-Themes but the startup menu? thats taking it to far

I have just tried it and it sucks , I needed to edit both the install script and the uninstall script to make it work as it is geared towards Ubuntu . ( I may give it another go when they have released the finial version , IMO the beta isn't worth trying )

i never bothered installing it, im not that desperate to get back to a windows Environment look-a-like ..prolly best suited to a Suse Distro if you ask me :)

Thanks for trying it. I should have realised it was for that distro :)

It's been there for a while, although, I must admit I'm not keen on it myself.

Oh well shows how often i look, must be time for another peruse,(you never know what may turnup) btw heres some splashy rpms that work, no need to edit files etc, you should install it with yum, then when/if you remove it with yum it will put eveything back as it was, remember its still in testing.

Hi Leigh, yes your srpm helped alot i couldnt of done it with out you, ;) and im most grateful, i dont see any problems, as long as you use yum to install and unistall, i have tested it numerous times on different machines, the worst that could happen is your machine not boot :D no it should be fine, if you do have problems just remove it with yum and everything should go back the way it was. as long as you dont try editing any files manually, though dont do it on a critical machine just in case
