View Full Version : Fedora 8 live cd not logging in...

Been wanting to test-drive (and probably install) FC8, but when I pop in the live CD and boot it up, it tries to start-up and display the login screen, but defaults back to the console login prompt. I can login as root (passwordless, btw) but both startx and startkde fail and return to the console. Cannot login as a normal user.

Anyone have any ideas? I can post relevant info if needed.

I really want to try out FC8. I have been running a custom-kernel FC4 distro for some time now, and I'd like to see what the Fedora folks have been up to.

Thanks in advance.

Your video card is not supported (details?)

grep "(EE" /var/log/Xorg.0.log
lspci|grep VGA

Have you tried logging in as "fedora"?
