I have kernel 2.6.23.9-85.fc8. my video card is GF 7300GT. Here is my smolts link :
http://www.smolts.org/show?UUID=475719d5-489a-4892-a14c-441de19b40da

From install system to login ,my system crash randomly within a short time but nvidia driver works fine.

After I add "acpi=off", everything is fine but my video card is disabled (no NVIDIA logo,no desktop effect, no xShape), nvidia.ko can not be found or "nvidia0 error".

I had try Nvidia official driver and livna (kmod-nvidia) both, but my system works well only by "acpi=off" without nvidia driver.

P.S. : I'm a poor Chinese student, forgive my Chinese-engilsh please :p

I had a problem with my laptop and Fedora 7 where I had to add vga=768 (instead of acpi=off). I would recommend you try vga=788 and see if that helps.
