i have some problems with fedora core 2 test 2 kernel latencies!

the jack server is generating too much xruns!!
( 100 ms or higher!)

i configured the kernel as follows:

version 2.6.3-2.1.253.2.1

enabled preemptive sched
capabilities as module
realtime-lsm capabilities module

(the complete configuration is in the attachment)

my machine:

P4 2.4 533
DDR 266 512
ATA100 HDD
RADEON 9000

can anyone help me PLEASE!!

Did this problem start with your compilation of a new kernel? Or is that just coincidental? Also: what error messages are you getting specifically (I'm sorry if you already said, but I've never run Jack so I wouldn't know if you had).

it's not an error message, it's an interactivity problem

the kernel scheduler is performing at too high latencies, so realtime audio programs like jack,
is too sensitive to this behavior and will deform the sound in form of xruns like clicks in audio stream, this is a bad thing and not suitable for professional audio work.

but i thought i get rid of those problems with the release of 2.6.x kernels, i don't know what's going on!?

You've could try searching or posting to the agnula mailing list. If anyone's likely to be able to help you it's them :)

PS. I've been following the progress of audio on linux with some anticipation for quite some time now. I'd be interested to hear how you get on :)
