i am trying to update through "Yum Extender" but 1 msg coming is
"Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: feannatar".

how will i solve this problem?

Disable the repo temporarily. Use the repos icon on the left. Alternatively you can wait a while and see if the repo becomes available. Then try your operation again. After that think about upgrading to Fedora 8 as the support for Fedora 6 is non-existent.
