I may be very new to linux but I'm not to PHP and Vbulletin.
I suggest that there should be a new profile field for the version of Fedora that the user is on and this should show up in the postbit.
I think this would help with troubleshooting don't you think?
Very sorry if you have this and I just haven't looked properly ;)

I don't think we have this feature, however I can see a problem with it. Many of your users have several systems running different Fedora versions. Such a bit could cause confusion in such cases.

I see your point there.
Possibly this then, if it's not too much trouble.
Use a form hack for VB so that when the user is posting a thread they have a text input in which they can state their version, this would be optional but recommended.

That could be useful. Also, you could set it to auto fill with the version added to the profile. For other systems they would just need to change it.

Usually members add this type of information in their signatures... This is the best option as it will be shown every time you post... :)

I do not agree. I think that placing such information in a signature just clutters up a thread. Including this info when starting a new thread would be useful about 80% of the time though.

With signatures you still run into the issue of multiple systems, and/or fedora versions. A signature including fedora versions for several different systems and hardware profiles would be very long and likely to cause confusion.
