Hi there,
I've installed dual boot XP64Bit and FC8 64Bit on a dell optiplex 755.
both os runs fine when i use the onboard card.
once i inserted the Nvidia GeForce 7300GT Card to the system, the problems started.
on XP everything works fine but on FC the X won't start.
I tried installing the drivers from the nvidia website.
both versions returns the same error:
(WW) ******INVALID MEM ALLOCATION ***** b: 0x128000000 e: 0x128ffffff correcting
(EE) cannot find a replacement memory range
(WW) ******INVALID MEM ALLOCATION ***** b: 0x129000000 e: 0x129ffffff correcting
(EE) cannot find a replacement memory range
(EE) NVIDIA(0)L Failed to initialize the nvidia graphics device!
(EE) screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
FATAL SERVER ERROR:
no screens found.
the only difference between the 2 versions is that the newest version (169.07) also returns:
the NVIDIA GPU at PCI:1:0:0 is not supported by the 169.07 Nvidia Driver.
after reading a bit in this forum and others i tried to remove the drivers from nvidia and install them from the livna repo.
but no matter what driver i try to install it keeps going back to version 169.07
can someone help?
BTW, anyone knows what happenned to nvnews.net website ? i can't seem to reach it.
thanks
