[Wasted]

Hi, i've browsed all of this section of the forum but couldn't find a definitive answer as to what i'm looking for. I'm a new programmer to c/c++ (still coding on C at school, but in 2 months from now i'll start using ms visual studio), the thing is, I would like to try programming on linux as well. Can you help me as to what to choose? Thanks in advance
