Hello,
I have used FC1 without any problems, when I try to install FC2 test3 I get a kernel panic.
This is the message;

That was the message.
I am working with a pentium 2, 380 MB memory, 350 mhz and 2 harddisks from 15 GB and 6GB.

Nice problem isnt it :-)

Thanks in advance

Wim

When I try the Suse 9.1 Live cd there are also problems, unless when I use "nohotplug=1"as bootargument.

Definately interestering, cant say i have ever seen anything quite like it before. It almost looks like when its trying to boot off the cd it hangs and then just craps all over itself. I know in T2 you couldnt boot from the cd, so you might want to try booting from the FC1 cd and then after it boots sitck in the FC2 t3 cd and try the install from there. Definately interestering, to be honest, i dont know exactly what half the stuff is even referring to. THats what id try first though, good luck. Hope this helps.

My only thought is to pass a noapic or ide=nodma option on boot.

For the record, passing "noapic ide=nodma" worked for me (in the final release version of FC2).

I don't know which of those options was the magic that made it work - I haven't had time to try with just one of them to find out!

I ran into the same problem installing FC2 on a gateway g6-400. The solution was to pass the kernel ide=nodma
