I have a printer on a Vista machine that I would like to be able to access and use with this Fedora 8 machine. Both machines are on the same network. Can someone point me to a "How To" for accomplishing this??

Hello:
I would start with Firewing1's Shared printing: Linux to Mac OS X, Windows and of course other Linux boxes! (http://www.fedoraforum.org/forum/showthread.php?t=113307) How-To

Unless I'm reading that wrong, the guide is for when your printer is hooked to the Linux box. My printer is attached to a Vista machine.....

My best advice is to switch which to you linux box as the print server, sharing printers through Windows is a risky proposition.

It's not that it can't be done.

But what about windows' 62 critical security updates for just this year alone. I'm not saying there isn't a place for Windows but why expose that security nightmare to the world? Sharing a printer from Linux to Windows is fairly straight forward and a whole lot safer.
