View Full Version : Fedora 8 won't boot with new EMU-II sound card

I just recently installed an EMU-II Producer sound card by Creative and Fedora 8 no longer boots. Before the services start loading on startup, I get some PCI messages with the sound card's name in them, and then it may get to the first or second service, sometimes it won't even get that far, and then startup just freezes.

If I take it out, I can boot up just fine. This is a clean install of Fedora 8. The sound card works fine under Windows. Also, I cannot even run the live disc if I have the card in.

My hardware is listed in my signature. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Some sort of hardware probe that I can potentially disable? For right now, I don't need sound in linux, so I'd be fine if there is a workaround that includes keeping the card in.

Thanks!
