hi
dare I ask?
Will the new fedora 8 'see' my attansic l2 fast ethernet 10/100 t-base controller (driver name atl2) as fedora 7 did not

No, F8 won't see your nic. The L2 driver hasn't been submitted for inclusion in the mainline kernel, and although some distros include out-of-tree GPL modules in their releases, as far as I know Fedora does not.

Can you tell which distros they are. I will come back to fedora when it can see my nic!

Looks like Ubuntu picked it up, according to this bug report.
