This is what I did...
1) Installed Fedora
2) Updated Foedora
3) Downloaded ati drivers
4) Did a sh <filename>.run
5) Took defaults, reset.
System freezes after logging in =/

Now I need to backup a step further...
Went into Display settings and chose radeon.
Not the display won't launch. I can get to the point of being able to log into a command line like area, but no GUI. How do I reset to the vesa display?
Yikes.... I suck.

If you can get a command line when you boot, login as root and type:
nano /etc/X11/xorg.conf
and change 'radeon' or whatever to vesa, then press CTRL-X to exit, save the file and you should be good to go. Nano was installed by default here, hopefully for you too.

Looks like nano will lanuch... But there is no text in the xorg.conf I think? Maybe thats the wrong location?

Or... maybe I don't know how to type X11 instead of x11. Ugh.
Ok!
Set to vesa and now I get the gui again. Is there an easy way to get this ati driver installed. All the guides so far are kinda scary for a beginner.
I ran the .run file from ati. Is there a safe way to switch to that driver. Or is there a nice and easy installer like Envy? (used that with Ubuntu)

Note the capital letter in 'X11'

Nah, it's easy... according to Leigh! You just need to enable the 'Livna' repo and install the driver. You'll need the Livna repo enabled anyway for DVD/MP3 and other multimedia support. He's not around right now, but I'm sure he'll jump in to help when he does, in the meantime, look for his guide.
