I know almost nothing about Fedora, my husband is the computer person in the house. I have an HP photosmart 715 digital camera, I plug it in to the USB hub my husband has set up and Fedora doesn't recognize it at all. It shows that there's a camera plugged in, but it won't let me unload the pictures on my camera.
any help (step by step is best!) would be very much appreciated!!

Your camera is supported. Just install digikam - the setup is really easy.

If you're using the latest kernel (2.6.23.1-10) it seems to be a bug. Go back to the previous kernel.

Open a terminal window; type
su
and give the root password when asked; hen type
yum install digikam
after the installation is done, type
digikam
or search an icon for it in the menu (if you're using KDE, it's in the graphic section) and launch it.
Click on the "camera" menu, select "add camera" - there's an option for automatic camera recognition that will take care of the rest.
The interface is simple to use, and has a manual.

If the OP is using Gnome and using the latest kernel, how is installing a KDE app going to help with the bug? Well, apart from installing a lot of unneeded KDE libs! If the OP boots to the Grub menu and hits a key and selects the previous kernel, the camera will work with the built-in Gnome tools.
Edit: Whoops, replying to the wrong thread, but as I said, who needs kdelibs? :p
