WTF
Now we can even have a friendly exchange on this forum without some overzealous CM shutting it down immediately ?
Seriously? Wow ! OK.
So I'll just post my response here :
What do you expect everyone to know EVERYTHING about all aspects of their lives???
No, of course not, most pick one or two things that they enjoy and that's it.
But that was exactly my point from the beginning.
@ schwim
You should be so lucky ! :p
I am ASE certified by the way, whatever that's worth these days.

Dies, you would do well to re-read the Guidelines, specifically #1.

I'll do well to find a place to hang out that's a lot more easy going then this forum has become lately.

I closed it down because I could see the direction it was headed. It was beginning to turn unfriendly. If you think I was overzealous then PM bob or one of the other admins.

As a general statement, the Admins and CM's do have the responsibility for moderating threads for content and for also making sure that heated discussions are ended. That doesn't mean that you can't get personal with another member, but do it through PM's if you want.

I say we ban him, Wayne. Not bob, but the ruffian.
Yeah you, you stinking ruffian.
thanks,
json
PS: you can ban Bob too if you want, but the ruffian for sure.

And, as my closing statement on this issue, just let me comment that we're all simply people who use Fedora, not super-humans in any other respect (well, there's that...but I'd be bragging... :D ). If someone has a problem with a member, CM, Admin. or whoever, it's best resolved by a quick PM to the other party such as "What's the problem?" .

And why do I feel the sudden urge to send you on a two days vacation to cool-off island.

To just hang out, I tend to go to other forums. For Fedora related, tech and some other shallow fun facts and chatter I visit here.

Seems to be the trend lately. Lord knows I got my share of bees in my bonnet and y'all know it. But I came back to this forum with a new attitude. I freely admit that it is MY problem, not anyone elses. But I do need to butt in and say I do not like this trend either. Just ban him. For what? There was no disrespect intended, merely an observation like Schwim's of a few days ago. I guess he got his time out too. I suppose I will get mine now. Whatever...Y'all are just community managers, not gods. It wont do you much good if you dont have a community left to manage. So go ahead, ban me for two days too, close this thread. Like everyone else, I just want to live and let live, I dont have any bad feelings towards anyone and I mean no disrespect. And no, this cant be done in PM because it is a COMMUNITY issue that more than one person is seeing.

Perhaps the two first items in the guidelines are clear enought for him/you to understand:
Respect the Forum Staff
We provide a service in our free time to keep the forum running efficiently; we are not here to make life harder for anyone. Any decision taken by the Administrators and Community Managers is final and will be respected.
Do Not be Abusive
Abuse doesn't get anywhere. It generates bad feeling and is very likely to get you suspended from the forum. We're here to help each other not fight.
The community issue as you mention is to let anyone whine for not letting you take over threads with unrelated topics even after it was told to stay on topic. Yes we arent goods, but even if you dont like it WE are in charge and this is not a democracy, the staff sets the rules and the rest follows them. We dont run a first grade classroom, so why does the same members act like this is one.
When people are mad/disturbed they usually post things that damage their image and could lead to severe punishments, that is the reason for cooling-off period to avoid a drastic outcome for well-respected members. If you see it in another way then the issues are bigger than mentioned.

I'm surprised to see that this thread hasn't been closed yet. If I was an OP, I would have closed the first thread too.
