First you might wanna check the computability list for the spca5xx drive, chances are your camera is using this. http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca5xx.html

If it's using that driver for sure you'll have to search here on the forum for how to install the driver, can't find a link right now and I've only ever used the linux-uvc driver for my webcams and never spca5xx.

my Creative Vista Live worked fine under FC5. I installed FC7 and it doesn't find the camera. all the apps say that they connot find /dev/video0. I am able to load the gspca driver and when i look at the output from lsmod, the driver is there and it is linked to videodev, etc. however, the Gideo and spcagui user programs still cannot find /dev/video0. I never had this problem under FC5. There was a program under FC5 that said something like "Select Multimedia devices" or something similar under the System Menu. I don't see it in FC7. with FC5 i could test the webcab with that program and actually see live video. Is that program perhaps called something else in FC7?
anybody can help?
