This for FC6, installed on IBM Netvista P4, 1.8GHz 512 memory.
Software updates via Yum-updatesd have been applied for this installation.
The Pirut package manager (Add/Remove) utility shows package version numbers in both Browse and List tabs. However the version numbers are different. And some packages are shown only in the List tab.
For example:
Under the Browse tab (Servers/MySql Database/Optional Packages) MySql shows as:
mysql-server-5.0.22-2.1.i386 (as the installed package)
Yet the List tab - (Installed Packages) shows mysql-server-5.0.27-1.fc6.i386
The server shows its version number to be 5.0.27
Why are different versions numbers displayed? I would have though that Optional packages would have displayed those installed and not installed.
Also many FC6 MySql packages are listed in the List tab that are not shown at all in the Browse Tab/Servers/MySql Database/Optional Packages List. Why is this?
