Backup Server

Hello all,

I am trying to setup a backup server for my office with four ms windows clients. The Server will be a Dell PowerEdge 700:
2.8Ghz
1 GB DDR
SATA RAID 1 w/ 2 drives (120 each) connected to add in CERC 6-Channel SATA RAID controller
on-board nic

(1)Will that be compatible with Fedora, and (2)will it be adiquit? If not please suggest alternatives.

With that much ram, I should also be albe to run a file/print server, LDAP and maybe proxy (if secure).

I am considering using amanda for the backups, but I hear it is difficult to setup, especially since it will use the harddrive instead of tapes. (3)What program do you suggest?

I use amanda. There is a great howto for disk backup. Why won't you use a tape method?
