As posted to the fedora-devel-list@redhat.com mailing list under an hour ago, the freeze is coming:

FC2 final freeze warning!
From: Elliot Lee <sopwith@redhat.com>

The final freeze starts on May 7. You should plan to have all your
packages built by May 6 close-of-business. We're already in freeze-ish
mode - the difference will be that only critical bug fixes go in after the
hard freeze.

It's the home stretch - almost done!

mmm... FC2

I'm still a bit worried about SE Linux though. I've got to get hold of it as soon as it comes online though - I've got to write the Mad Penguin review for it.

I've been using the test releases for some time, and I just don't get SELinux. I really don't any of it. I've tried, I have, but all selinux gives me is errors, and I can understand how its secure. I have the root password and I still can't manage to do anything with SELinux installed. I just hope it won't get in us users way too much.

Very much looking forward to core 2. It'll be great to have it running and working like its supposed to. It will be great people, by far the best yet.

There are some things that annoy me though. No norwegian spell-checker in openoffice.org, which now has a great bluecurvish look btw., and that ugly new gnome splash-screen. Besides that, It's all good.

Not if I get there first Ug! (hehe, just joking). I personally like the Gnome splash-screen. It has a little bit of risque off centerdness.

Anybody know if the Synaptics touchpad issue has been/will be resolved? Since my only system is a laptop with this pointing device, I'm keenly (and selfishly!) interested...

Do you have any idea if precompiled 2.4 kernel is going to be included in the final freeze?
