Hi,

I recently was put in charge of some fairly beefy servers (quad core 64 bit xeons ~ 3.4ghz)... but the person who set them up installed Fedora 7 32 bit. Is there any way I can upgrade to Fedora 7 64 bit while keeping all of my configuration files / users / cron jobs / services / etc?

Would it be as simple as just popping in the 64 bit rescue disk???

Thanks,

It is better to back up the files you want to save first before attempting an upgrade.
It is possible to upgrade from i686 to x86-64 but it requires a lot of tweaking. I suggest to get a x86-64 DVD to do a fresh installation then you can bring your configuration.
