Type your user name and password?
Sorry, I know you have a problem but could you be a bit more descriptive?

in other words you have no GUI interface (X)? When you log in, are you on a nice greeter screen with a picture or is it just a DOS looking screen? What kind of video card do you have? You say this is a "reinstall", have you had these problems with Fedora before? Or is this your first time with Fedora? You may need a graphics driver, but at this point this is just a WAG on my part.

well. i tried to upgrade to fedora 7. and it was too much deleting. so i put my fc6 back and did a reinstall. i have only been using fedora for a few months.
i do have a DOS looking screen. i can try to reinstall my video card driver.

ok. sorry to bother you again. it says i don't have that file. i tried to install X11 and it said i already have it. also, i can't log in using putty if that helps at all.

Try Leigh's commands again, but this time make sure the "X" in "X11" is capital. You have that file, you just typed something wrong.
edit: You can always try:
su
(root password)
yum groupinstall "Gnome Desktop Environment"
just to see what that does. Maybe something got corrupted, it has been known to happen...

Try it with a cap X , if this doesn't work try this ( it also has a cap X )
su -
X -configure

i'm starting to think i have no drivers at all pretty much. when i did the X11 (which worked after i rebooted) it said command not found on all the listings.

This has worked really well for me in the past:
system-config-display --reconfig

hey thanks. i tried it and it wasn't reading it correct i guess. i'm trying to reinstall the drivers, but i can't find them for linux. the guy who set up the server no longer works here, so it's an adventure.
