I'd like to install FC7 onto my Dell Inspiron 1420. I'm told that the intel 4965agn wifi card is working with FC7. Is this true?

I read here http://linux.derkeiler.com/Mailing-Lists/Fedora/2007-08/msg03091.html that the cdrom drive is not detected by FC7 during installation and that the install media should be copied to an external usb. I have a flash drive and the Fedora-7-Live-x86_64.iso (is this the correct install disk to download?). How do I put the install media on the usb? It also says to upgrade to kernel 2.6.22. Can I do this from the install media or do I have to have a network connection. Based on past experiences with other distros on this hardware, there's a chance the nic does not work during installation.

Another question... about rawhide... how unstable is it? I've tried ubuntu gutsy tribe 4 and debian unstable. Gutsy tribe 4 pretty unstable but debian unstable worked well. If I run rawhide will it naturally become FC8 or will I need to reinstall FC8 when it is released?

The live image is installable (but won't do an upgrade).

On a Fedora system install livecd-tools and use livecd-iso-to-disk.

Any upgrades will require a way to get the rpms, most often with an Internet connection. The install media have to be regerenated to handle updates, I think.

rawhide is the development version, often with many updates per day. It does and will break and require some skill to fix. It will not upgrade cleanly to F8, it's only intended for testing.
