I installed the lightscribe system software and cd labeler for Linux and is uploading fine.
Once I tried to burn an image, all the options are ok except that on the drive options, there
is no lightscribe drive found, and I do have one iinstaled from factory.

Any ideas?
thanks.

Not sure what software you are using but I use this:

http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10803

and the lightscribe drive on my laptop works very good with it, I would suggest sending an email to support? or the dev of the software you are using with the drive model/specs/etc...

I am using the original software from the Lightscribe web site. They do have a Linux version and it is installing very easy and loading fine.

I do have the same but for Windows, and there, is working fine. In Linux, there is a problem finding the Lightscribe drive.

So everything is ready to go to burn a cd label, except that the option to choose the drive has nothing on it.

Maybe I need a driver or something of that nature.

I have the same problem. I am using FC5.

The issue I see is that the lightscribe system software segfaults, and as a result, the labeller says it can't see any drives.

You can test this on your system by typing this:

#4L-cli enumerate

What I see is:
Using /etc/lightscribe.rc
Segmentation fault

I believe it's a bug with the system version and certain kernels, but I can't even get it to work on the stock FC5 kernel.

I've tried the linking sr0 to my dvd burner device (hdd) didn't work.
