hi,
I have just upgraded to FC7 from FC6. Now my parallel port Canon N640P scanner is not detected by xsane, whether as a user or as root. There were no problems in FC6.
recompiling the kernel with support for user space parallel port drivers turned off allows root user to use xsane and find the scanner. It still is not recognised as a user, even though the user is a member of the lp group.
Something is odd with the kernel and/or permissions.
Anyone have any ideas?
