The open source drivers for the Broadcom chipsets are now usable for most models. The bcm43xx drivers that ship with the Fedora kernel don't work though for me though (BCM4309).
After asking for help in the bcm43xx mailing list, I've been given this standalone version of the driver for 2.6.21 kernels:
ftp://lwfinger.dynalias.org/patches/bcm43xx-softmac-sa.tar.bz2
That worked well for me till now. The above doesn't apply to 2.6.22 kernels though. The bcm43xx developers have produced more patches for 2.6.22 and 23 kernels. These can apply on the vanilla kernel.
Even though I think these drivers are probably going to be in the 2.6.23 release, it would be nice to be included in the current Fedora kernel release as well. Having wireless out of the box is a desired feature ;)
regards.
