Hi everyone,

I have installed Fedora 7 from a DVD which comes along with PC World magazine (since with our internet speed I cannot download directly). The DVD failed the media check saying that

# unable to read the disc checksum from the primary volume descriptor. This probably means the disc was created without adding the checksum.

I have installed it anyway. It seems to be running fine but what sort of a trouble should I be looking out for. How can I make sure that the DVD had all the other files. And what is the risk of installing from such a media.

Thanks a lot

Hello:
If you installed it without problems I wouldn't be too worried about it.
You can always verify the iso image on the dvd against the official release sha1sums
You can find the sha1sums for the i386 dvd here : ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/releases/7/Fedora/i386/iso/
