I'm trying to install fedora 6. I try to run the install in graphical mode, the install then seems to start (vmlinuz...... etc) but it the hangs with my monitor flashing on and off as though it's trying to recognise some signal or other. My monitor is actually a Toshiba LCD TV using a DVI connection.

I have also tried booting with the resolution=1024x768 option and the skipddc option but the same thing happens.

Are there any other options that I should try to see if I can get this installed?

Thanks

Try using the text installer. Type linux text at the prompt. When it's done installing and reboots, you'll be greeted by a prompt instead of gdm or kdm. Type startx to get to your DE after you log in.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that too but the same thing happens. Any other ideas?

Thanks again.

You would have a better chance of installing if you have a "regular" computer monitor to use. Then after getting FC6 installed then try hooking up the TV/LCD.
