Hi

I am considering purhcasing a Dell PowerEdge SC440 Server (Pentium D Presler) with Sata II harddrives.

Can anyone tell me if they have installed Fedora 7 on this type of machine. Does anyone know if Fedora will work OK on this machine.

Thanks for your help

I have an sc430 and fedora 6 went on it fine, all hardware detected including the sata hard drive, ide dvd writers and most improtantly the onboard Broadcom gigabit ethernet (which runs at Gb speed)
It also detected my firewire card and LVD scsi card as well but you may not have that hardware. Should be fine :-)

Thanks

Do you know what the difference is between a SC430 and a SC440? I wonder if the new Kernal drivers in Fedora 7 will be OK?
