I just installed Fedora 7. I could see the cursor all throughout the installation and used it, but as soon as I actually boot up after install the cursor doesn't show. I can see where it is supposed to be because it highlights things and I can still use it. It is just hard when I can't see the cursor. Is there a transparency setting or something? Any help would be great.

This also was my only glitch on installing f7
Remove the rhgb from the /boot/grub/grub.conf kernel line
reboot
This solved it for me

Hi wutbox
try going to the /etc/X11/xorg.conf file and add a line
for HWCursor to the Device section so it looks like this:
Section "Device"
......
Option "HWCursor" "off"
......
EndSection
Note: the .... just mark other lines in my Device section
that may not be the same in your configuration just so
you don't have to see them. For the change to take effect
you'll have to reload the xserver (quit KDE or gnome and
run startx or restart the xorg server some other way like restarting)

Are you using ntfs-3g ?
I think F7 installs the packages by default:
$> rpm -qa | grep ntfs
ntfsprogs-1.13.1-6.fc7
ntfs-3g-1.826-1.fc7
I ran the above on my laptop which has never seen a ntfs drive but it
has the packages to support that.
I think selinux might interfere a bit with mounting ntfs, see:
http://www.ntfs-3g.org/support.html
the home page is good:
http://www.ntfs-3g.org
there is also instructions in particular for Fedora (core 6 but the instructions
should be the same for F7 and that particular section on ntfs is dated
May 2007 so it seems up to date):
http://www.mjmwired.net/resources/mjm-fedora-fc6.html#ntfs
(note the mjmwired URL also mentions the selinux issue)
