Hi guys,
Need some advice on the hardware I am getting for my application server. Was thinking of getting the Dell PowerEdge 860, with the following specs.
2GB DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz (4X512MB Single Ranked DIMMs), ECC
SAS 5iR internal RAID Controller, PCI-Express
C4 Add in SAS/SATA RAID 1, 2 Hard Drives connected to add in SAS controller
2 x 80GB SATA Hard-drives
I'm not really experienced in running RAID on servers, so based on the above specs, do anyone foresee any issues that I might have running Fedora on the server? Do I need specific drivers to use the above RAID controllers on Fedora?
Any comments, suggestions and help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
