I have the dvd which I used to install Fc6. I used it to start up and entered:

linux text askmethod

I entered for ftp site: ftp.applios.net
folder: /pub/fedora/linux/release/7/Fedora/x86_64/os

after it asks for keboard and then searches for installation media I get this message:

Unalbe to read package metadata. May be due to a missing repodata directory. Please insure that your installation tree has been correctly generated. Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository anaconda-base-200610172015.x86_64

I want to do this because I think it is possible--is it?
I also tried with Http method and entered ftp.linux.ncsu.edu Same folder as above. Same result.

Updating through network works the same way as with the DVD, only the LiveCDs lack the upgrade option.
anafshalom, the path should have "releases" instead of "release". If that's just a typo in your posting, try a different mirror: http://mirrors.fedoraproject.org/publiclist/Fedora/7/x86_64/

change the word release to releases that should take care of things
