Pre-F7 IDE drive installations beware F7 rescue cd.

The Fedora7 rescue cd F-7-i386-rescuecd.iso cannot rescue a non-F7 installation on an IDE drive!

Expected result:
Able to chroot /mnt/sysimage

Actual result:
ERROR (some message)
There is no /mnt/sysimage to chroot

Possible reason:
fstab used hd notation and F-7-i386-rescuecd uses sd notation on IDE drives

Yup, they changed the way the drives where labeled. So, anything that specifies an hd will screw up.

Interesting, so, how are know the SATA drives called upon? Are they also called sd<something>? I don't have any SATA drive to test...

Correct. I have both ata and sata hard drives. They are both listed in /dev and sd<insertdriveletterhere>.

That does make sense. After all, they are hard drives, from a user's point of view there shouldn't be distinction among them.
