Hi,
I don't know what's the cause, but my FC6 doesn't see the cdrom drive anymore. I guess it's from an yum update, but I can't be sure..

When I insert a new cd in the cdrom unit (dvd actually) it doesn't get automounted.. Also there is no /dev/cdrom device for me so I didn't know how to mount it manually..

Here are some details for you , if somebody wants to dig into my problem:

[root@localhost ~]# uname -a
Linux localhost.localdomain 2.6.20-1.2952.fc6 #1 SMP Wed May 16 18:59:18 EDT 2007 i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

Thank you !

I'll let the real experts tackle the solutions for you, but double-check to see that your CD-Rom is properly identified in the BIOS and has the cables connected properly. (Dust Bunnies and Gnomes sneak into 'puters and pull out connections when you're sleeping :D )

Thank you for your response, but it worked just fine before (2-3 weeks). Also, in windows the drives (cause I have 2 of them) work w/o any problem...

So I still need a helpful answer, guys.
Thank you.
