Stanton Finley (http://stanton-finley.net/fedora_core_5_installation_notes.html) became famous for his series of Installation Notes between Fedora Core 3 and Fedora Core 5. However, he left a large void when he decided to move to Ubuntu when Fedora Core 6 was released. Toward that end, Dr. Gregory R. Kriehn (http://optics.csufresno.edu/) has written a series of Fedora Core/Fedora Linux Systems Administration Pages that aim to fill in the gap and expand upon the spirit of Stanton's pages.

The current Fedora 7 pages include the following Installation Notes and HOWTOs:

F7 Systems Administration Overview
1. Background Information & Purpose
2. Why Choose Fedora (Fedora vs. Ubuntu)

F7 Installation Notes
1. Pre-Installation Tasks
2. Installation
3. Post-Installation Changes (Listed by Order of Importance)

F7 HOWTOs
1. General Setup for Installing Applications
2. Security (Listed by Order of Importance)
3. Network/Filesystem Services & Applications (Listed by Order of Importance)
4. E-Mail & Spam
5. Apache/MySQL/PHP Services & Applications (Listed by Order of Importance)
6. Enlightenment DR17 (E17)
7. Multimedia-Based Applications & Setup
8. Drawing & Image Manipulation Programs
9. Programing Applications & General Utilities

10. Preparing to Install Fedora 8

Hi Kriehn. Welcome to Fedora Forum. Took a brief look at the good doctor's site. Don't have time right now to look it over really well but at first glance it looks as though it may be another valuable resource for Fedora users. Thanks for the link.

Hello, Professor!

Impressive, very impressive! I went straight to the FC6 pages on sendmail/fetchmail/procmail. I'm still trying to figure this all out....

I really need a couple here. :( There used to be an old procmail/fetchmail page that was extremely useful in explaining all of this stuff in simple terms, but I cannot seem to find the reference for it anywhere. Was it: http://www.ii.com/internet/robots/procmail/qs/ ?

Thanx for the HOW-TO,
Vince

Vince,

Why yes, that is the exact site I am referring to. I've been looking for that site for over two years now! I'll link to it sometime tomorrow. I must have been using some weird terms that was burying the site whenever I performed a Google search for it.

Thanks *a lot*. That's the page that originally taught me about procmail roughly 3 and a half years ago.
