HI everyone,

Hopefully someone be able to help me with the problem that I am having. I installed Fedora Core 6 on my Compaq Presario 2100 laptop. I then immediately upgraded to Fedora Core 7 through yum.

I would have done a clean install but I had issues burning the ISO. But anyway the upgrade appeared to work.

The only issue that I have noticed is that now my CD/DVD drive doesn't work. I place a CD in the drive and the read light turns on but after like 3 seconds the light turns off and thats all it does.

If anyone could help me with this problem it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

root

# rpm -qa autofs
autofs-5.0.1-11

if you don't have that
yum install autofs

You also should update as
yum update --enablerepo-updates-testing
touch /.autorelabel
reboot
