The glchess game in the gnome game package log me out everytime I close it....
I have to close it by using the process viewer (system monitor) by using the "end process function"
I also notice that bug doesn't happen when I start glchess with the terminal
I am running Fedora 7 (i386) on a 64bit AMD Processor
Any suggestion would be appreciate

PS:I am a new linux user .

Which chess is this, I typically used XBoard with GNUChess works very well and lets you play on ICS. If you need help setting it up let me know.

I sometimes had problems with nexuiz when using the desktop effects and such like.

Try switching them off if they are on and see if that helps. If not try posting what graphics card you have and what drivers you are using etc.

I have try with the desktop effects off and I still got the same issues

My graphics card is a Diamond S80 Radeon 9200SE
this is what is in my xorg.conf abour my graphics card (
Section "Device"
Identifier "Videocard0"

I also notice that if I select "End Game" when I play with the GNU Chess engine I won't log out.

I am a new user. How do I download GNU Chess and get in the right directory. Do I have to use tar or is there an RPM?

You should also try PyChess: http://pychess.googlepages.com/ which is a very nice, gnomy chess interface for Linux.

Just open add/remove software from your menu, search for 'chess' and the program will automatically download and install the packages you have selected.
