Lately I've been having a strange problem when trying to connect to my wireless router. I am able to connect to the router, but after about a minute my connection drops out. I tried disabling my network interface then re-enabling it. But after that I am no longer able to change my SSID to match my router. Strangely, I can set my SSID to neighbors' routers with no problem. I can connect on start up every time.

I am using ndiswrapper with my WG311 v3. It works well as I am using a "borrowed" connection right now to post this. I configure my network card using iwconfig/iwscan/etc.

An interesting side note, after I lose signal but before I reset my network interface, iwconfig still says that I am connected to my router. But when I use dhclient to configure my dhcp, dhclient reports that the network is unavailable.

I would greatly appreciate any insights into what's causing my problem.

Ok after a little more investigation, I found an innocuous little error message when i run dhclient.

Listening on LPF/wlan0/00:14:6c:8c:07:6d
Sending on LPF/wlan0/00:14:6c:8c:07:6d
Sending on Socket/fallback

accepting packet with data after udp payload.
DHCPOFFER from 192.168.1.1
DHCPREQUEST on wlan0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67

accepting packet with data after udp payload.
DHCPACK from 192.168.1.1

when dhclient tells me that "ip length 314 disagrees with bytes received 534" does that mean I have a problem with how dhclient is establishing my connection? Am i using IPv4 when I really should be using IPv6?

Are you and your neighbor using the same SSID by any chance, it looks like it's trying to connect to yours and then trying your to connect to your neighbor. Try changing your SSID or set it to static ip's
