Hi.......
Finally I got beryl working in ATI :) . My card is Radeon xpress 200m. First I installed Xgl and through xgl beryl is working.
I followed the instructions specified in this site http://nicofo.tuxfamily.org/dotclear/index.php/2007/02/23/25-automatic-installation-of-xgl-compiz-and-beryl-on-fedora
Wow.....I too started enjoying the excellent graphic effects. But again there is a small problem  .
Whenever I am "not using Xgl" my output of glxinfo | grep render is
direct rendering: Yes
GLX_ATI_pixel_format_float, GLX_ATI_render_texture
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon Xpress Series
But when I am "using Xgl" the ouput of glxinfo | grep render
direct rendering: No
GLX_ATI_pixel_format_float, GLX_ATI_render_texture
OpenGL renderer string: ATI Radeon Xpress Series
Because of that graphic effects are running on cpu rather than using my ati card.
Somebody ,please help me to use Xgl + beryl with direct rendering=Yes.

It is normal to loose direct rendering when using XGL
Because of that graphic effects are running on cpu rather than using my ati card.
CPU usage is normal regardless of XGL ( xorg , beryl & xgl use cpu )

If you want DRI and Composite support, I suggest you buy an nVidia card. I know, the suggestion is lame and you might have heard it many times before but Ati's drivers just don't contain aiglx support (yet ?)...

I mean the usage of cpu is more .(I have done programming in OpenGl . When direct rendering is enabled graphic programs run fast and the usage of cpu is not much but when direct rendering is disabled graphic program runs slowly and the usage of cpu is very high).
Is there any solution other than buying a nvdia card :p for enabling direct rendering and simultaneously using beryl + xgl

Another lame answer, switch distro  . Fedora only uses AIGLX they made themself. So GLX is not supported, there are some GLX distro's for Fedora Core 5, however these are not maintained anymore  . Search turned up with this:
Availability
As of May 2006, the Xgl X Server (and related components including the Compiz compositing manager and associated graphical config tools) ships as a non-default in one major Linux distribution, SUSE 10.1, and is included in Frugalware Linux or SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop 10. Xgl can be set up fairly easily for Ubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake) and 6.10 (Edgy Eft) and for Freespire with binary packages from unofficial repositories. Xgl is also available as an overlayed package in Gentoo Linux, and as a PKGBUILD for Arch Linux.
The latest Mandriva Linux 2007 includes official packages to run Compiz, using Xgl and AIGLX. Mandriva provides drak3d, a tool to configure a 3D Desktop in two clicks. Also Sabayon is a distro that has XGL and AIGLX already installed by default along with the proprietary nVidia and ATI binary drivers.
If AIGLX or NVIDIA's implementation of accelerated indirect rendering can be used, there's no need to use Xgl. Xgl is not needed for any Intel graphics chipset from 810 onwards, NVIDIA GeForce 2 to GeForce 7 (through the official 9629 driver), and ATI cards with AIGLX support (through the free radeon driver). AIGLX is enabled by default in Fedora Core 6; the compositing manager is enabled by running System→Preferences→Desktop Effects and clicking "Enable Effects". Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft) supports AIGLX by default.

It's not that hard to search yourself :) . It's not directly into Ubuntu (I think). You can get it from the repo's. They have an Xorg server that seems to fit XGL.
