Kaffeine too slow

Hello everybody.

This Friday I noticed something 'strange' with my FC6 installation: Kaffeine is very slow while playing movie DVDs. The movie just gets paused from time to time.

First of all I thought that was a XINE issue but after installing totem-xine I could see movies again properly.

Have you experienced this problem, or is it only in my laptop?

Ok, I hope the problem vanishes when I install Fedora 7. By the way it does not occur in Ubuntu 7.04 (where I am watching a movie now).

I've been using Kaffeine on FC6 and haven't run into the problem you described. It (or Xine) does fail to play some DVDs, but when it works, it shows the contents flawlessly.

The strange thing here is that in my desktop with FC6 Kaffeine works flawlessly (although it is not as fast as the laptop where I am experiencing the problem). It is not a hardware problem because DVD playback works fine in Windows and in Linux with different players (Totem for example) but they don't look that good. Perhaps I accidentally removed something in my efforts to fix ALSA.

Ohh, don't worry my friend, in fact I no longer expect to fix those problems in FC6, just wanted to know if anybody else experienced them. FC6's days in my laptop are numbered.
