Hi All:
I have fedora core 6 running on VMPlayer1.0.2 build-29634. And i have encounter a very weird problem with USB. When my USB device is cold-plugged into my computer, i was able to find it in both:
/dev/bus/usb/001
and
/proc/bus/usb/001
so the dir will contain:
001 003
(assume i have nothing else connected to the USB ports)
but when i try to run some simple process on the usb device. During the middle of the processing, 003 disappeared from the dir and couple seconds later it reappeared as 004. and my program outputted error because USB lost connection. And the number for this USB will keep on incrementing as going from 004 to 005 to 006 to ...
if any one by any chance have seen this behavior or know what might be causing this problem please help me. no forums or google search results seem to help me. And i was wondering can this be a fedora 6 issue? because my coworkers are using fedora 5. Or can this be a dell issue? because my coworkers are using IBM thinkpads. (it works for all of my coworkers)
Thank you!
