How are you setup NFS or Samba? What version of FC is on each computer? What make model of printer? How are the computers connected? etc

FWIW you can install and setup the lpr print server on Windows - usually you have to install the Unix network utilities from the Win distribution CD/DVD. Then you can just access the printer as an lpr printer under cup. No samba needed.

I used to do that, but I later found that I got better performance & imaging when I put the printer on a FC system and shared it via ipp. Win & Linux both like ipp.

IF only someone had asked "What version of FC is on each computer? What make model of printer? How are the computers connected? etc" you would not have had to post that.

Oh, Wait, I did.
